Warren Hood – Presented by Discover Historic Mansfield

Warren Hood hails from the fertile musical grounds of Austin, Texas. The son of music legend Champ Hood, Warren began playing the violin at eleven, and graduated with honors from the Berklee College of Music. Warren became recognized as a virtuosic fiddler, and as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and singer as a founding member of the South Austin Jug Band. Warren has been recognized three times as String Player of the Year in the Austin Chronicle Music Awards. Warren tours extensively with the Waybacks and the BoDeans. He has also performed and/or recorded with Lyle Lovett, Ben Kweller, Little Feet, Elvis Costello, and Alejandro Escovedo. The Warren Hood Band features Warren Hood on fiddle and vocals, Austin guitar ace Willie Pipkin, and award-winning pianist and vocalist Emily Gimble, granddaughter of the legendary Texas fiddler Johnny Gimble, as well as bass and drums. Warren Hood can also appear as a solo and duo artist.
